The Leguan 225 takes accessibility to new heights. With its all-terrain capabilities, high driving speeds, and standard features like automatic outrigger leveling and a platform with 55 degrees of rotation, setting up at a worksite and completing the job has never been easier. Despite widely varying conditions from one site to another, the Leguan has handled everything Martinez and his coworkers have thrown at it. Getting it to a location is also a breeze.
– It’s able to go through just under a five-foot gate. It’s easy to transport on a flatbed trailer, so it gets in and out of jobs quickly and easily.
Maneuvering the lift is very simple with the intuitive joystick controls. To Martinez, its ease of operation clearly sets the Leguan 225 apart from similar equipment.
– With the older style machines, you have hydraulic levers and switches. With this one, every movement is done with two joysticks. It’s like playing a video game, which makes it really easy to use.
Not only is it easy to move the machine, it also hardly leaves a trace. When the job is done, you would only know anyone had been at the worksite by looking at the results.
– It doesn’t create a lot of impact. Here in the States, people take pride in their lawns. There’s not a lot of damage to yards thanks to the wide tracks. Also, the extensive reach gives us the ability to set up in a street or an easement.
Safety is never out of reach
Martinez makes it a point to further discuss the great reach enabled by the machine’s telescopic boom.
– It gets us to most of our tree work. I’ve only had to climb about a dozen trees since owning it, whereas I was climbing almost every day before. The average height of the trees that we do is around 40 to 50 ft. With the lift, given its 74 ft. of maximum reach and almost 40 ft. of side reach, we get to just about everything.
Besides being more efficient, having to climb fewer trees adds to the many ways that the Leguan 225 improves occupational safety. For one, the machine remains secure and stable despite uneven ground, even when operated entirely from the basket. The home function brings you down from the workspace and takes you back up in a consistently smooth manner at the push of a button. Martinez is particularly impressed with the automatic leveling feature.
– The auto-leveling system is probably the best safety feature of all. If the machine is becoming tilted or unleveled in any way, it will not let you boom out further. You’ll get notified in case of ground failure, such as a piece of broken or shifting concrete.
No complaints
For Martinez and his company, dealing with Leguan Lifts has always been a positive experience. The people at Leguan are very responsive to inquiries and quick to share their expertise with the customer. When Martinez got the machine, he says, Leguan’s representatives even flew out to Texas from Finland to provide orientation.
– The customer service has always been great. They are prompt and have always picked up the phone and answered all my questions. Very nice folks. I have nothing but high regard for the work and servicing that they’ve done on my machine.
Overall, the Leguan 225 is a superb addition to the equipment used by the Texan tree service specialists. Martinez sees no reason to part with it any time soon.
– We plan on using it for a very long time. If I was to look at expanding the amount of lifts in our fleet, I would consider going for another Leguan.
